Not really. Regular loose powder is made either talc or cornstarch and is used to touch up shine on your face. It is not designed to stay put and it clogs your pores. Mineral makeup powder is made of crushed minerals and can be used as a foundation, eye shadow, blusher and finishing veil. No, loose powder is usually matte and chalky looking and translucent. Mineral makeup is more opaque, giving you more coverage. Some are chalky and matte, mine is kinda dewy and glowy. I use LA Minerals.
