Can you just wear powder makeup and that is it, or should u apply foundation before?

is there any bad sides to just wearing powder? thanksCan you just wear powder makeup and that is it, or should u apply foundation before?
You can wear powder over your foundation to eliminate shine on your nose or T-zone. Never apply powder under your eyes on on your eyelids. If you're wearing powder alone make sure that you wear a good eye and facial moisturizer underneath. Using powder alone may cause dryness and break your skin. Can you just wear powder makeup and that is it, or should u apply foundation before?
It depends on the type of powder. Some are meant to be a foundation, and some are meant to go over a liquid foundation to set it in well. My sister wears only powder, and too be honest, I think it looks bad. There are so many different types of foundations, some with a lot of coverage, some very sheer. I would always go with a liquid first, and then just use a very minimal amount of powder to set it in. However, the main goal of any foundation or powder (whatever you choose) is to even your skin tone. Rule of thumb... if someone is able to notice what you have on your face, you either have on too much, or you are wearing the wrong product.

Many women make the mistake of thinking that powder controls shine. It really doesn't. To control shine, you should use the right skin care products (facewash and moisturizer), and also the right foundation (some are made for oily skin, some are made for dry skin).

I use Mary Kay foundation for combination to oily skin, and I LOVE it. I don't need powder to go over it, but I do use powder if I'm going out or something. I used to use cover girl liquid foundation, and I like that one too. It's a bit lighter when it comes to coverage.

Bottom line is, you know your skin best, but it's always good to be open to new ideas. If you don't need coverage for imperfections, you can just wear powder. Just go light on it, because too much powder doesn't look nice.
If you only need light coverage, or if you have clear skin and just want to get rid of shine, wearing only powder is fine. The only ';down side';, I guess, is that powder doesn't give very much coverage, so if you have blemishes or uneven skin it might not do enough for you.

But you're smart to only wear as little makeup as you need - it's much better for your pores!
no, you can wear it alone. sometimes it can look really powdery to me and i like foundation because it looks smoother like but its just a preference.
