Makeup- Whats the difference between liquid and powder foundation?

liquid foundation makes my face look oily by the end of the day and powder foundation just sits on my skin making it look flakey....pls help me xMakeup- Whats the difference between liquid and powder foundation?
I used to have the SAME problem.. it's cause we have like combination skin.. so the liquid just makes us too oily, and the powder just doesn't work haha..

I started using Lauren Hutton's Aqua Elements.. it's a mineral based type of foundation.. you can see it here: http://www.laurenhutton.com/aqua-element鈥?/a>

I absolutely love it! It's the perfect foundation for your skin type.. and there are several shades to choose from, so that you can have the best match for your skin tone.

Hope this is helpful.Makeup- Whats the difference between liquid and powder foundation?
Well, the name really explains itself. Liquid is usually a water based formula or some other liquid whereas powder is a powder based formula. I would say you should get a makeup primer to mix in with your liquid foundation. Make sure you are using a good moisturizer. I like Cetaphil because it is gentle and although it looks heavy it isn't greasy at all.
I'm pretty sure they have non oily liquid foundation. If thats what you want to use, then do some research on it and find some good ones.

MAC has them. You should try it out.

All powder foundations make you look kinda' cakey. Using a brush instead of the sponge that comes with it will help it looking less flakey.
liquid foundation seeps into your pores. get bare minerals. i used to say the same about powder foundation until i switched to BM and i am sold i will never stop using it. it's the best foundation EVERRRR covers every single flaw and makes my skin glow. i love it!
i use a tinted moisturizer to sort of prime my skin, and then i use a coverage powder over it.

i use Stila Tinted Moisturizer and Estee Lauder Double Wear Powder
the use a mixture of both! lolz thats what i do=]

the liquid is suppose to have the dewy effect, and the powder is just powder.

Sammy
They give you different coverage.

Then use mineral foundation lol

What is the best loose-powder makeup?

Thanks guys! What is the best loose-powder makeup?
everyday minerals

bare essentials is horrible, HORRIBLE for your skin, the main ingredient is TALC which not only drys out your skin, but causes breakouts and is also very bad for your lungs, its hard to see but when you use powder, smalls bits of it get in the air and you inhale it, and when talc is in it, its really bad.

everyday minerals is one of the few brands that actually is all natural, and good for your skin. What is the best loose-powder makeup?
KRYOLAN

KRYOLAN MAKEUP Has be going 65 years or so !!
I'm guessing you're talking about a foundation makeup? Bare Minerals is more expensive ($25) but well worth the extra money and it lasts a long time. You can buy it online at Sephora or the Bare Minerals site.

What makeup brand would you recommend for foundation and powder?

My skin sometimes gets acne and I feel like it doesn't always look as nice as I want it to, and I'm sure wearing a little makeup would fix that. But I've never really wore it before so I'm not sure what brands to buy...I need something that is very natural looking but will stay on all day..basically something that you really like and thinks works well. What makeup brand would you recommend for foundation and powder?
NEUROTROGENA! (or how ever u spell it) its dermotologist reccommended and its light covers what u need convered and is oil free...it doesn't cause break outs and i use a lil bit of cover girl poweder(just cuz i ahvn't expierment'd w/ nething else.i am happy w/ it) good luck! What makeup brand would you recommend for foundation and powder?
I apply Wet 'N' Wild's Ultimate Cover Foundation with a brush to evenly cover my skin. Then I use Rimmel London's Stay Matte Pressed Powder with another brush evenly over my face, then blush and bronzer or whatever else you want to you. Works for me!
Bare minerals!!

they have foundation%26amp; concealers and they are good for your skin!! (it wont make you break out).

if its too expensive go with almay.
i know it is a bit old school, but i like max factor's pan stick (it's a creme foundation)
avon or covergirl... make sure it matches your skin tone, you dont want the ';mask look';...
I like Bare Minerals

  • Does the powder form of mineral makeup give you the same coverage as a liquid foundation?

To be honest, it truly does depend on the mineral foundation and liquid foundation you are comparing. Several of the known mineral makeup companies give more of a sheer coverage; especially if you apply the MMU dry.

For instance, Sheer Cover, id bareMinerals/BE and Mineral Essence give more of a sheer coverage and they will help soften the look of your flaws, but not really cover them with the MMU powder alone. You'll need to appy a concealer first. Sheer Cover has a concealer that really covers well, but it really isn't mineral...it's more of a traditional concealer. Mineral Essence and BE both have more of a powder concealer or bisque that you'd use first. Mineral Essence I feel gives a nicer coverage than BE though. There are other companies that offer even better coverage with their Mineral Cosmetics.

Lumiere is my favorite and I have a very easy time covering my ruddiness, freckles/sun spots, small scars, etc.. with just the mineral foundation alone. The coverage is more of an easy light medium to buildable heavier...and it doesn't take a lot to get that flawless look. They have 5 different formulas (4 powder %26amp; 1 liquid) for you to choose from; for your skin specific needs. They also carry a healing concealer that is similar to Sheer Cover -being creamy, but is much more natural and is mineral based. It's great for days when you need more concealing. They also have 5 different finishing powder/veils to choose from and each have 3 different tint options. http://www.lumierecosmetics.com

Other things that you need with proper application of MMU, that you may or may not need with a traditional foundation are:

#1) You need to make sure you have a smooth canvas. A good microfiber cloth (like Jane Iredale Magic Mitt or Aquis Mitt/or cloth) with mild cleanser will easily help achieve this.

#2) You must have well moisturized skin and allow your moisturizer to set and soak in for at least 2-5 minutes, before applying your MMU. I personally find natural moisturizers like emu oil work best (I have dry/sensitive skin, but emu works on all skin types).

#3) Your applicators/brushes need to be of a very good quality to achieve the best/most even coverage. I prefer a good Flat Top Buffer the best for medium to heavier coverage, Long Handled Kabuki for light medium to heavier coverage and Kabuki for sheer to light medium coverage. Lumiere's synthetics are my favorite. High quality Italian Badger are also really good (much better than goat or sable hair), but not as soft as most synthetics.

#4) Choosing the right MMU foundation that is best for your skin type is very important. If you have dry and/or sensitive skin, you will most likely not do well with bismuth oxychloride (found in both Sheer Cover %26amp; BE), kaolin clay (found in several MMU companies), talc (found in most drug store brands) or zea mays/cornstarch (found in BE's veil and several other drug store brands cosmetics). If you have oily skin, you will most likely not want a MMU foundation that contains added oils like vitamin E (offered in several brands) or Squalane oil/olive derived (available in Lumiere's Flawless foundation).

Also, if you are use to and prefer the feel, texture, application and look that you get from liquid foundations, then you may do best with applying MMU wet or getting a Liquid Mineral Foundation (I find Jane Iredale Liquid Minerals to be the best for a liquid). For liquid mineral foundation or using a wet method with MMU, I highly recommend using a Duo Fiber Optic brush (Lumiere carries this and it's duped after MAC) or MAC #187...it helps give that flawless, airbrushed %26amp; very natural look without having to use gobs of makeup. I prefer the wet method over using a liquid mineral foundation...for me, it's just way better. I'll use a mix of Lumiere's Cashmere foundation and Juice Beauty Hydrating Mist (you can use any facial mist, hydrosol or even water) --making a very *thin* liquid and then apply with my duo fiber optic....love the finish! You can also use a flocked sponge and this works way better than cosmetic wedges. It'll give a heavier coverage, but I find the duo fiber optic to work better and look more flawless w/ less makeup.Does the powder form of mineral makeup give you the same coverage as a liquid foundation?
You are very welcome and thank you! =D Report Abuse
Does the powder form of mineral makeup give you the same coverage as a liquid foundation?
Powder, in my opinion, is much better. Liquid tends to look very unatural and does alway go on evenly. It also clogs your poar more and causes break outs.

A powder will give you a even natural look. It will cover up stops and even out your skin toan but wont look like your wearing a mask of makeup.
No, it doesn't. For those it may seem like it does but it's nothing but a glorified powder.

Stick with liquid foundations, especially those that you can apply a few extra layers for more coverage. Then apply a powder for a finished look.
Try puritycosmetics,co,uk. It is really good!
I use the Liquid Powder Minerals from Bee Luscious. It is an oil free liquid and goes on like a liquid. Then dries almost immediately to a powder. NO mess either.

    http://www.beeroyalproducts.com/store/ho鈥?/a>
No. Mineral coverage is even better.

Take the coverage of an amazing liquid foundation, minus the mask look and feel... And you have mineral powder.

I also have acne scarring and redness/uneven skin tone. People who can't seem to get the right coverage from mineral makeup are probably doing the application wrong. For problem areas, you need a concealer brush for it to work properly. That is what I use. Also, just by switching to mineral makeup gets rid of a lot of facial problems. My acne went away (haven't had a pimple since and my face is clear) and the redness that I used to have went down a lot.
Although mineral makeup is good for your skin and does good things for it. Remember, It all depends on your skin. Liquid foundation is know to work on all skin types. You see i have combination skin so i get minor redness and breakouts. I have tried mineral makeup and found that it does nothing for me besides make me look cakey. It doesnt cover well and actually brings out the look of a breakout if you have one. While foundation can feel like a mask and run , mineral makeup can feel heavy and dry out your skin ( or just make it look dry) . So i would stick to a good liquid foundation. If used best it looks flawless and traceless. Its when people get the wrong color, use to much e.t.c is when (in my opinion) liquid foundation goes wrong. It covers better for acne and scaring, plus you can always set it with a good powder so you get the best of both worlds. I always use liquid. But if your one of those people with pretty good skin with hardly ever any breakouts, i would recomend mineral makeup and apply a small amount. Not everyone favors the mineral makeup though. It all depends on your skin type. Liquid foundation works on all types of skin. hope i helped %26lt;33
see, i don't prefer this. i need a foundation and powder that really covers.. i have scars from acne. that mineral makeup did nothing for me.. but i hear some people like it. I use Clinique's Superfit foundation... it's the best i've ever used.

it's a straight up lie; you may be confused about using placenta, but the placenta was from full term and healthy babies

years ago (before AIDS, etc.) we used to keep the placentas in a freezer in labor and delivery and they were sold to cosmetic companies; this practice has been discontinued now because of blood diseases, etc.
that is so sick. that is a straight up LIE.
I would submit to you that if animal testing is frowned upon so harshly, that using skins of human fetuses might be viewed very unfavourably! Ya think???? Of course it's a lie!

I went to mac makeup for powder eyeliner?

thyey said they didnt have any powder eyeliner.but all my friends who have powder eyeliner say its from mac.I went to mac makeup for powder eyeliner?
they have powder eye *shadow* (http://www.maccosmetics.com/templates/pr鈥?/a> but in eyeliner all i can think of would be the fluidline stuff... (http://www.maccosmetics.com/templates/pr鈥?/a>

goodluck...I went to mac makeup for powder eyeliner?
They have it cuz I have it. It is the black eyeshadow and you have to get the thin sharp edge brush for it too.
*~*If I were you, I wouldn't use the eyeshadow as an eyeliner. It's pretty, but it doesn't last very long. Try MAC fluidline (eyeliner). It's a gel eyeliner that comes in a variety of colors and it stays put all day, and doesn't budge. Also, when using the fluidline, the best brush to use is the 266 (there's a cheaper alternative linked below as well). There are a couple of links below to help. HTH!! ;) *~*

bareMinerals makeup is about being true to your identity. Bare Escentuals started the revolution in mineral makeup with the introduction of our 100% pure bareMinerals鈩?

I prefer KmS Mineral Essentials. I, along with other women cannot tolerate the bismuth oxychloride, a form of arsenic lead in Bare Minerals. KmS is a comparable brand to bare minerals minus the bismuth. It does wonders at controlling the oil in my skin, and the concealer covers all of my many imperfections.Does that bare minerals powder makeup really work? I have oily skin light acne scars from teen years.?
I have oily skin, too, and I don't think it works well for me. I have tried several of the *mineral* foundations/powders. For my oily skin the only products that really work well are Loreal or Lancome or Clinique foundation/powder for oily skin. Yes, some of them cost more, but they work MUCH better for oily skin! The makeup stays on longer and does not shine as much.
I have oily skin as well, and it did not control it like I thought it would. I have since switched to kms mineral essentials. It is a pure makeup as well, but it contains kaolin clay which is why it absorbs oil so much better. It also is more cost effective than bare minerals and does not contain Bismuth. Love it!
Actually , it works best for people with oily skin. I used it for years but my skin changed and now its dry ( not good for minerals) Go to Sephora. Listed the link below and pick the shade according to the description it gives you . Most women fall under light medium or medium but it also depends on your skin tone . good luck and have fun !!\ :)
im only young but i know alot about make-up n skin care

well first of all it may react to your skin if you have had acne in the pass but there nothing to worry about it works give it a try for a couple of wks n youll see the difference
It does work really really well. The worst part is finding the right shade. Even when the sales people that work there do a bad job. But its really worth the price. It will cover all your scars too.
Yes, it works great for those problems. It also benefits your skin, adding healthiness to your skin.
IT WORKS GREAT.... IT COVERS UP EVERYTHING.... oily skin works reaaly well with it too.

I started off by using Laura Mercier mineral powder foundation which is from Sephora and about $70, but then my Mom started to sell Avon... the mineral powder was only $7.99 so I figured I have nothing to lose by trying it.

I am so happy I tried it because it does the same exact thing as the Laura Mercier, but for so much cheaper. So I won't be buying Laura Mercier anymore!

Just give it a try, it's lightweight, and you can build your coverage the way you want.

If you do decide to try it, get yourself a really good kabuki bruch. I recommend the makeup forever kabuki brush. You can buy it at Sephora... it's kinda pricey ($50) but you won't regret buying it! It's the softest brush you'll ever feel! I use Pur Minerals. It is the only 4-in-1 out there. 1. Concealer. 2. Foundation. 3. Sunscreen. 4 Finishing powder.

This is a pressed powder. I love it. I have been using it for over a year %26amp; would not trade it for anything. You can get it at Dillards (in a big city smaller ones will not carry it) Utla stores or Ulta.com. It runs $24.50 but when you add this stuff up separately it will be about the same or a little more depends on what you already use. At the end of the day my makeup still looks good not much shine at all. It does a very good cover up. The have a starter kit. It will come with a chisel brush. I also use their Pur Minerals Marble Blush Pink. I use the same brush to apply the blush. I use Pur Minerals Mineral Glow. Get that healthy, sun-kissed look all year with this micronized mineral powder with golden undertones. Apply to your T zone %26amp; along the jawline.

I use Loreal Bare Naturale Eyeliner. It comes with a brush. If you want your eyes to look bigger than apply the eyeliner on the outside of the eyelid. Smaller on the inside. But if you use the Loreal it is a powder which is good because it lasts longer. If you want a pencil I used Maybelline Line Point. You don鈥檛 have to worry about sharpening that one. I use to use it until I tried Loreal. Now I would not go back to the pencil. I love Revlon鈥檚 new Colorstay Ultimate Lipcolor. It really works. I apply it in the morning %26amp; never reapply during to day or at night. Good luck %26amp; God bless you.

I use Maybelline dream matte mousse foundation (and so do most of my friends) it gives a really smooth look and it . And for powder I put blends really naturally into your skin so covers up spots and red patches/lines. I use Maybelline Stay Matte powder on top which blends so well with the foundation. The Powder usually retails at 拢3.99 and the foundation is usually 拢6.99. There's also tons of shades to choose from. What in your opinion is the best makeup brand for foundation and powder and why?
Bare Minerals is the best in my opinion. You can buy it online and at some beauty supply places.
bare minerals, you cant feel it, and its good for your skin. Its the only make up Ive bought that doesnt show that annying makeup line on your face.
I have several business contacts that are makeup artists and they ALL swear by MAC bases, concealers and powders. They like them because:

1 They have one of the largest choices of base colours available.

2 When applied it tends to cover the skin lightly yet hiding small imperfections. Think of it like very sheer stockings over skin was how it was explained to me.

3 The product lasts on the skin well and only a small amount is needed, making your initial outlay a good investment and your 'per-use' costs are greatly minimised.

    Hope this helps.

I am a professional makeup artist and I do a lot of high end events such as photo shoots, weddings etc.,. It is my job to make people look flawless. I deal with all different skin types including some pretty sever cases of acne. I would say stay away from bare escentuals, they use bismuth oxychloride which can really aggravate your skin causing a itchy dry feeling that can cause rashes. I personally use a Natural/Organic company called Faerie Organic Minerals. They are the best I have used. Their makeup not only covers amazing but also leaves a dewy glow instead of a powdery cakey look (which is so unappealing). Their concealer covers the worst case of acne I have had to deal with and the photos turned out great. Do NOT go with drugstore brands they are loaded with chemicals that can cause acne and lead to further irritation and they leave a powdery look. You want to look natural, have your makeup cover well but match your face. I recommend going with yellow/golden under toned colors as they hide imperfections better. Faerie Organic has a FREE sample kit at their site so you can try it all here http://www.faerieorganic.com
I haven't tried the higher end mineral makeup, but loreal bare naturale makeup offers alot of coverage. Maybelline mineral power offers light coverage. I hear bare essentuals has really good coverage, maybe give that or loreal a try.

For the powder tones from here: http://shop.temptu.com/p-526-invisible-d鈥?/a>

which would be best for me?Can you help me pick makeup powder tone?
The first one is you, the second one if you want to pick up just a tinge of color. The 3rd one is for people with tan or deep tones.

the 1st or 2nd it's up to you, if you want a little pinkish tint.......It says invisible so it won't be much of one.

If it was me %26amp;I were buying - I'd get the 1st one. If I want a pink tint I'll use blush %26amp; dab it on my chin %26amp; tip of my nose, to give me a sun kissed look. Can you help me pick makeup powder tone?
I looked at the webpage, I would say #2 shade because it has pink undertone which go well with ivory skin.
1 or 2, 2 if you want that pink undertone, which will make you look refreshed.

So do i have to buy both foundation and powder makeup and put them both on?

i'm guy and i don't know much about makeup , i'm making a little movie and i need some makeup. So do i have to buy both foundation and powder makeup and put them both on?
Nope, if you get a good quality one (such as Clinique etc) you can get an ';all-in-one'; - visit any Boots or Debenhams make-up counter, and they'll be happy to advise you on what's right for what you want!So do i have to buy both foundation and powder makeup and put them both on?
Some foundations have a great coverage and you do not need to apply a powder on top. So it all depends on what kind of foundation it is. Have you tried Cinema Secrets? Check out cinemasecrets.com. The foundations are great movies and do a great job in covering everything.
a good foundation will be enough. some good foundation brands are neutrogena and olay.
Liquid should be fine enough. I know im not too fond of the powder
No, I never use more than just foundation. I use clinique Almost make-up Dark #04. It's like 19.00 a bottle, but it will last you FOREVER. I just smooth it everywhere on my face and even down on my neck (it blends itself and looks better that way) and I use a really light colored foundation for ONLY directly under my eyes to cover up the dark circles. I also put that light color on and around my nose and my chin and a small part of my forhead. If you have a problem getting the two different colors to blend well take a small dab of lotion and smooth all over your face. THat will help it blend right. Use an eye liner brush with black eye shadow and line you eye lashes with that. Also, take a bronzer and sweep it over the apples of your cheeks and take a rose colored brush and just dab that on the apples of your cheeks....it looks like you have a sun tan with redder cheeks from the sun....it actually does look nice.
no i use a foundation called trublend and it works realllly good then i put on a line smoothing compact on top of it wit looks really smooth and nice its made by almay

and about color all you need is to mach the color to your arm color then go either a lil dark or a lil lighter depending on what you want im white i use either buff beige or just buff so what ever works best for you!
No just get a matt foundation, it goes on as a liquid but drys into a powdering finish
You may want to try Bare Minerals make-up which is a very Light weight powder foundation
You need things that will eliminate shine, if your in the makeup section youll see things that say shine reducer etc.

If you have dark circles under your eyes you should use some foundation.

Powder the rest of your face, youll also need to put on chapstick or lipstick (yes lipstick) just to make your lips look a little nicer.

If you dont want to buy so much makeup there are 2 in 1 foundation and powders (i love them) but i dont think it would look right on a guy, for a movie, might look too fake.
Nope - I don't bother with either. I just use a tinted moisturizer. It doesn't leave your face feeling all tight and make-upey.

Has anyone tried that sheer cover makeup that is a powder that replaces foundation??

I love Bare Minerals! I just started using it and it's great. I honestly feel it is well worth the cost and I think you will find that it will feel nice and light on your oily skin. I use bare minerals, similar to sheer cover, and i love it. It will cover up any imperfections that you have and it good for any type of skin. You can get it at Ulta, Sephora, or QVC.

I only use Bare Minerals, and here's why: Number one, the products I use everyday, like the foundation and mineral veil, last for over three months; number two, the products made a small pitted acne scar I had on my cheek go away; and number three, they have evened out my skin tone and erased the red areas, even when I don't wear makeup. They are worth the money.
The main ingredients (minerals such as mica, zinc oxide, and titanium dioxide), have been the basis of most makeup foundations for decades. Mineral makeup has no special health or beauty properties.

Mineral makeup can cause problems the same as any other preparations can cause problems. It's not purer; there's no scientific proof of that.

Basically all make up is ';Mineral makeup'; in short it is a great marketing tactic.

I've tried the mineral makeup, Bare Essentials, Mineral Secrets and more. All of them cause me to break out and some cause a RED RASH on my face. They test on animals are are NOT hypoallergenic.

I use Nicole Miller, it's all natural, hypoallergenic and does not test on animals. In short, Nicole Miller is mineral makeup since it's made with all natural minerals.
Mary Kay! It runs like $28 but that's for the foundation and the brush to apply it - they're also changing to all mineral eyeshadows, cheek colors, and bronzers at the beginning of March. Most consultants do carry inventory so it shouldn't be an order it and wait thing - you should be able to get it on the spot.

Physicians Formula. It's pricey because people will pay. This is a ';cheaper line';, but as good as any other, and it's good for sensitive skin.
Kms mineral essentials in my opinion, and believe me, I have tried them all! You will not get the quality or the performance by going to a depatment store or pharmacy.

Kms is one of the very few mineral cosmetic lines that is truly all natural and very healthy for your skin. Many others have fillers and unnecessary ingredients in them that do absolutely nothing for your skin. As you shop, be sure to read the label.

Kms wears all day, is a great oil absorber, is hypoallergenic, it will not clog your pores, it has built in spf sun protection, is water/sweatproof, and yes, it is pure enough you can sleep in it too. :)

Unfortunately kms is not yet available in the stores. You can order your cosmetics from their website, and they also offer a few of their products and kits on Ebay.

They ship very quick, so you don't wait long for your products!
LA Minerals...sorry not in stores though. But WAY worth ordering.

More power to you for trying to do a lovely job instead of doing the cheesey thing like a lot of people with your idea might have done.

If you don't want to deal with buying something online, you might try a sally beauty supply, if you have one. Mary Kay also has some LIGHT foundations, and they come out nice and translucent. Failing that, here are some places to order cosmetics from.

    http://www.amphigory.com/powder_pressed.鈥?/a>

If you wind up shopping from this company- you might not want to stop at the powder. (scroll down for darker shades) They have some of the most lovely lip and eye shades I've ever seen. They also have sample sizes available if you just want it for the night.

http://www.manicpanic.com/gothwhite.html Here's one option from Manic Panic. I've had some good experiences with their products, but haven't used this one. They've also got some light shades that aren't WHITE exactly. http://www.manicpanic.com/vampyres_veil_鈥?/a>

I'd reccommend that for the more subtle look.

Everybody else is going to reccommend Hot Topic- I won't. They're more likely to carry the cheeseball greasepaint type makeup which it doesn't sound like you want. They've got some nice eye products, though. This time of year they also have some decent costume jewelery.

What is that powder that the TV/movie makeup people use to keep from the actors from sweating on set ?

Can this stuff be used for everyday use ?What is that powder that the TV/movie makeup people use to keep from the actors from sweating on set ?
They use (depending on the artist) loose powder applied with a puff or brush. It is available talcum or non-talcum based. They usually use a colorless powder over foundation, but it is also available in a variety of skin tones. They also reapply it throughout the shoot as they are bound to sweat more under the hot lights. The powder actually soakes up the sweat and prevents shiney faces, but doesn't keep them from sweating completely. If you have ever seen the comedy sketch where the director yells ';Makeup!'; and someone runs over with a gigantic powder puff, and whacks the actor in the face; that is what that skit is making fun of.

Forgot to add, yes it can be used everyday.

What is the best makeup foundation and powder for oily skiun that you have used?

The best for oily skin is a loose powder form of foundation.

The powder will soak up the oil.

I really like Almay's line (you can find their make up at Wal-Mart.)

A lot of Almay's makeup designed for oily skin types have salicylic acid (an exfoliating agent used in skin care) in it. So,.. it's like the make up is cleaning your face while you wear it. It also dries it up more. But not too dry so you're flaking. LOL.

    Hope this helps.

I've use sheercover, and luminess air airbrush foundation. Honesty, i liked the luminess airbrush. But, it cost $220 minimum. so i suggest probably sheercover, or bareMinerals would work for you since sheercover is 29 dollars. I have oily skin and the best foundation I've found is MAC's studio fix. It's a powder foundation. With light-medium converage.
I use bare minerals and it helps my skin a lot. You can also use oil pads by neutrogena...they take away the oil but not the makeup off your face.

  • Can you just wear powder makeup and that is it, or should u apply foundation before?

is there any bad sides to just wearing powder? thanksCan you just wear powder makeup and that is it, or should u apply foundation before?
You can wear powder over your foundation to eliminate shine on your nose or T-zone. Never apply powder under your eyes on on your eyelids. If you're wearing powder alone make sure that you wear a good eye and facial moisturizer underneath. Using powder alone may cause dryness and break your skin. Can you just wear powder makeup and that is it, or should u apply foundation before?
It depends on the type of powder. Some are meant to be a foundation, and some are meant to go over a liquid foundation to set it in well. My sister wears only powder, and too be honest, I think it looks bad. There are so many different types of foundations, some with a lot of coverage, some very sheer. I would always go with a liquid first, and then just use a very minimal amount of powder to set it in. However, the main goal of any foundation or powder (whatever you choose) is to even your skin tone. Rule of thumb... if someone is able to notice what you have on your face, you either have on too much, or you are wearing the wrong product.

Many women make the mistake of thinking that powder controls shine. It really doesn't. To control shine, you should use the right skin care products (facewash and moisturizer), and also the right foundation (some are made for oily skin, some are made for dry skin).

I use Mary Kay foundation for combination to oily skin, and I LOVE it. I don't need powder to go over it, but I do use powder if I'm going out or something. I used to use cover girl liquid foundation, and I like that one too. It's a bit lighter when it comes to coverage.

Bottom line is, you know your skin best, but it's always good to be open to new ideas. If you don't need coverage for imperfections, you can just wear powder. Just go light on it, because too much powder doesn't look nice.
If you only need light coverage, or if you have clear skin and just want to get rid of shine, wearing only powder is fine. The only ';down side';, I guess, is that powder doesn't give very much coverage, so if you have blemishes or uneven skin it might not do enough for you.

But you're smart to only wear as little makeup as you need - it's much better for your pores!
no, you can wear it alone. sometimes it can look really powdery to me and i like foundation because it looks smoother like but its just a preference.

it's best to choose a brush that has a lot of bristles. That way, you are able to apply a lot without keep going over it a lot. I like l'oreal bare natural. Brushes with a lot of bristles might be bigger, but it's a good idea to have them for powder application.Im looking for a Makeup Brush that has powder storage in the handle?

Nope. They say it is much better compared to the usual one for skin.

did u ever try Lauren Hutton鈥檚 Aqua elements water mineral makeup? It has a special foundation powder( not liquid) with water infused to it. Looks great.Does mineral or rice powder makeup make u old or is it healthy for your skin?
I think it's healthier because it doesn't have all that crap that clogs up your pores, like talc...and I forget what else.

My mom wears it (she's in her mid 40s) and it doesn't make her look any older...

  • What is the proper way to wear makeup forever's hd powder?

are you supposed to actually use it as a foundation, or as a touchup? also, is there even a point to wearing liquid foundation with this powder? What is the proper way to wear makeup forever's hd powder?
    What it is:

A universal translucent finishing powder to be applied over foundation or worn alone.

    What it does:

Sets the foundation and slightly mattifies skin without changing its natural contours. This 100% mineral silica powder softens the appearance of imperfections. Completely evens out the complexion for a glowing, radiant look. One universal shade for all skin tones. You'll get the best results if you use the HD primer, then HD foundation, and then the HD microfinishing powder. It's A-mazing.

What else you need to know:

It's completely translucent and goes on any skin tone. Its talc-free formula does not dry the skin and is formulated with 100% silica. Dermatologically tested. What is the proper way to wear makeup forever's hd powder?
I have both the HD foundation and powder. They are meant to be used together, but the powder goes with all skintones. It's a soft focus finishing powder you use with a brush. It won't cover flaws at all, because it is 100% silica powder with no color. It's so light textured and feathery, not heavy. I think that's it's purpose because it won't cake or show on skin. All the makeup artists are using it now. I haven't used alot of mine, it's so expensive to buy both often.

SHE WAS GORGEOUS THANKS TO BEE LUSCIOUS COSMETICS !

I got her the liquid powder mineral foundation in the color vanilla cream because she is fair skin and the retexturizing primer that goes under the foundation.

Then the SILK RADIANCE POWDER its made especially for brides, and wow what a beautiful compliment this was, it is 100% crushed silk and it set my sisters makeup and gave her a beautiful rosy look.

Then the LipTox Sheer in the color PRECIOUS, and a final dusting with the mineral tides compact in flush of pink.

She looked spectacular and she is no spring chicken mind you, and her skin is rough because she works with horses and always outside. The Primer and foundation truly TRANSFORMED HER TO FLAWLESS SKIN.

I think it was a mistake and raebabe cut and pasted that answer its identical makes no sense.???????????? I think its a mix up.

But I will simply say, I use bee luscious and they don't have sales people I asked that question. They are not a ';rep'; company, you just go on line and buy but the do have great customer service.

Also if you are wanting to look special I can vouch for the retexturizing primer and liquid powder mineral foundation. And I just ordered the LipTox sheer can't wait to try that product out, I use the regular LipTox and love it. Hope I helped a little.
Sweetie I totally hear you on this subject. I got a few special products for my sister for her wedding day, it was so special she had widowed early in life and never found someone, since her first marriage was really just family and then she found a wonderful person we went all out for her.

Congratulations !!!! and BEE LUSCIOUS WILL DELIVER THAT PERFECT LOOK YOU ARE WANTING....

What is a good light makeup powder/concealer?

So, i'm not a huge fan of heavy face makeup...i wear concealer to cover up my dark circles but i want a light powder that can work as a sort of foundation...i want something really light and simple and easy. THanks! :DWhat is a good light makeup powder/concealer?
I don't know what brands you normally use, but here is an option for you: http://www.benefitcosmetics.com/gp/produ鈥?/a>

You apply it the same as a powder, only because it goes from cream to powder, you won't end up with ';dry face'; that you can get from using straight powder. It's also very sheer and light and looks very natural, also comes in a compact so its super convenient. Good luck! What is a good light makeup powder/concealer?

Can you use ultra fine powder used in crafting for makeup?

Some of the shades I've seen would be awesome eyeshadows. Same for lipstick but I'm sure I could use some gloss and a brush dipped in the glitter to make it stick. But what is it in eyeshadow that makes it stick to the lid?Can you use ultra fine powder used in crafting for makeup?
I would definitely not recommend that. It can irritate your skin. However, here are some brands that carry awesome eye shadows:

    Hard candy: http://www.sephora.com/browse/brand_hier鈥?/a>

Bare Minerals (it's better when you go to the actual store)

    Urban Decay: http://www.sephora.com/browse/brand_hier鈥?/a>

Stila: http://www.sephora.com/browse/brand_hier鈥?/a>Can you use ultra fine powder used in crafting for makeup?
would defiantly not recommend that. It can irritate your skin.
some girl do it because it comes out looking high pigment like mac. and its way cheaper. but DONT do it. youre taking a chance with your skin in the long run. just because it says NON toxic doesnt mean its okay for you to use on your skin everyday. And you wont know if youll have an allergic reaction or not.

Could you use baby powder as a translucent setting powder for your makeup?

cornstarch kind, not talc.Could you use baby powder as a translucent setting powder for your makeup?
    No.

Although that would be a great dupe for dry shampoo it would not work as setting powder. It would discolor your makeup and throughout the day it would settle in your pores and fine lines.Could you use baby powder as a translucent setting powder for your makeup?
probably, it might go cake like...ie. its not fine enough ...

  • How to choose the right foundation and powder and lipstick and eye makeup?

I don't know how to pick the right shade. I get confused when I try to shop. Don't make much experience in using makeup. I want to try a natural look, you people can't tell whether you are using makeup or not. Something that I can use everyday. How to choose the right foundation and powder and lipstick and eye makeup?
Your best bet is to schedule an appointment at the makeup counter in a department store. They will be able to pick you the right colors for the look that you are going for and show you how to apply it. You can also bring in a picture if there is a specific look you want. Hope I helped! How to choose the right foundation and powder and lipstick and eye makeup?
Your best bet is too go to your mall and see if the people at a makeup counter you like can do a quick eval. and see what looks best on you. I highly recommend mac products because they have a great quality and work on all types of skin. they also have very strong and vibrant eye shadows that work really well. good luck!
Try puritycosmetics,co,uk. It is really good!

Am I using too much powder when applying my makeup?

After applying my liquid foundation, I let it dry for a minute, then apply a pressed powder foundation. I then sweep on top of that a loose powder. Is it okay to finish with two powders, or is that going to look too cakey? What's the difference between a finish with a pressed vs loose powder? Any nelp would be great!Am I using too much powder when applying my makeup?
do u feel like it looks cakey? does ur powder settle into ur lines? if not, then ure probably doing ok.Am I using too much powder when applying my makeup?
Ok, so here's what you do...

(do this before any other part of your makeup)

    1) use liquid foundation as normal.

    2) take a natural mineral powder that matches your skin tone (maybe even slightly lighter) and put on greasy parts of your face.

    3) take a facial buffing brush and buff in a circular motion all over your face for thirty seconds. this evens out your skin tone, makes it look more natural, and prevents the powder from wearing off quickly.

    4) use second powder as desired.

I have found that with pressed powder, it is easier to control the amount of powder you put on your face. But that's just me. Maybe something different will work for you. Remember, your skin is completely unique.

PS- Beware of over-applying powder! This will leave your skin stiff, feeling dirty, and dehydrated. Better to under-apply powder than over-apply. If your face is really oily, then invest in some oil-absorbing facial sheets. They work wonders!
    No, I do that too.

Just make sure you don't put on too much liquid foundation or pressed powder. That's the stuff that makes you look really cakey. After you have the powder on your brush, shake it or tap it or flick it to get most of the powder off. That's the amount you should put on your face. You should really only ';dip'; your brush in your powder 2-4 times. In your T-zone areas each time, spreading it out in circular motions.

Same goes for the loose powder.
You should probably be only using one form of powder. Loose is generally used to finish and set the makeup at home, and pressed was formulated to carry in your purse for touch ups.

Skip using the pressed powder in the morning, and just use the loose powder.
I do the same thing, or well I used to. Just try not getting a makeup too dark for your skin. I used lotion, then foundation, concealer around my eyes, loose face powder and a tiny bit of brozer on my cheecks instead of a stupid blush.
You should only be using one.

With a pressed powder, it will go on with a bit more coverage and a bit heavier than with a loose powder.
I use liquid foundation and then loose because when its pressed its more for a one layer make up
You should be able to tell if it looks cakey.

Whats a good makeup powder that will cover the whole face and doesnt have glitter and is NOT a foundation?

Why not a foundation? Most mineral powders are pretty sheer. You can try Everyday Minerals start-to-finish and sheer face powders. (Their foundations are also good and you get free samples off their webpage look under custom kits).Whats a good makeup powder that will cover the whole face and doesnt have glitter and is NOT a foundation?
Bare Minerals because its very light and fells like theres nothing on your skin. Its kinda expensive though. It really works well though.

L' OREAL True Match is also well. Its not nearly as expensive and you can get it almost everywhere. It can be very light or very heavy. When its on light, it will cover most blemishes but its light enough to see freckles. If its heavy, it will cover almost everything. You should also use L'OREAL True Match Blush. Thats also very nice. Whats a good makeup powder that will cover the whole face and doesnt have glitter and is NOT a foundation?
Mac make up has a line that is designed to be worn for T.V. (if you wear glitter under studio lights, it glows). You may have to buy it on line, go to the retail and get the artist to select your skin tones in the STUDIO FIX, and then use that to select your colors on line.
bare minerals, sheer and healthy and doesn't clog up your pores and mask your face with a greasy fake-tan film...

invest in bare minerals, its so wonderful you can SLEEP in the powder :D
Mary Kay mineral powder? That is what I use anyhow.

    Question about powder makeup?

I have normal-dry skin. If put moisturizer on, can I wear powder makeup? Or will it look flaky? What brands of powder makeup are the best (preferably drugstore brands)? Should I use mineral makeup?

I've been using tinted moisturizer as a foundation, and decided recently I need more coverage. Liquid makeup just doesn't appeal to me, neither does mousse or cream.

Thanks so much!Question about powder makeup?
Hello, being a professional makeup artist I can tell you, if you find the right mineral makeup dry and flaky shouldn't be an issue. I would suggest making sure you cleanse, exfoliate your face (you can mix table sugar- a natural form of glycolic acid in your palm with your cleanser) and apply a natural/organic moisturizer. Natural and organic brands use real oils that are good for your skin. The biggest lie the cosmetic industry has ever brainwashed consumers into beliving is that oil is bad for your skin. By misleading you into believing real plant oils are bad for your skin they can substitute with petrol/gasoline oils such as mineral oil or synthetic chemicals that are oil free such as triglycerides. By doing this your skin's acid mantle is thrown off so your skin can become dry and flaky. Not all oils will break you out, most celebrities use straight oil on their faces (such as olive oil-dry skin only, jojoba oil, grapeseed oil and hazelnut oil) as it is well known you get added benefits of the antioxidants and vitamins that naturally occur in these oils, that are not found in the synthetic petrol chemicals. As for the mineral makeup, the best I have found after years of using countless brands and types of cosmetics is Faerie Organic Minerals. They really offer a gorgeous flawless coverage but leave a healthy dewy glow, this is important in my line of business that people do not look chlaky or dry. They have free sample kits at their site so you can try them out before you buy. http://www.faerieorganic.comQuestion about powder makeup?
To be completely honest, most powder foundations really don't cover that well. If you have dry skin, powder might make your skin look blotchy or uneven, unless you use a heavy-duty moisturizer, of course. Most people switch to powder in the summer b/c if you sweat it wouldn't melt off like liquid or cream would, but if you have dry skin, it doesn't seem like an issue.

If you really want to test it out w/ your skin, I recommend L'Oreal Bare Naturale mineral powder foundation, although it says 'bare natural' the coverage is actually very heavy, and a little goes a long way.

Since you've been using tinted moisturizer, I don't see why liquid foundation is that much different, it's pretty much the same except more coverage. (easy to get cakey though b/c of its full coverage, so don't use too much)

If you do decide to change your mind about liquid foundation, I recommend Rimmel Lasting finish foundation (very good coverage but doesn't feel heavy), and Maybelline Dream Liquid Mousse foundation (very natural finish) is actually great for dry skin.

    Hope this helps
just be sure, because moisturizer can make you oily, that you blot your face before you wear powder.

and be sure to re-apply through out the day.

and cover girl or Lancome is the best.

(but i don't know if you can get Lancome at drugstores.)
bare minerals has a hydrating powder foundation. that should do the trick.

Could I cut my makeup setting powder with baby powder?

The setting powder that I buy is expensive and i'm almost out. I'm between jobs so I'm running low on cash. I use liquid foundation. Could I cut the setting powder with baby powder to make it last longer?Could I cut my makeup setting powder with baby powder?
    Hey!

It depends. . . The skin on our bodies is different from that of our face. Even though baby powder is considerably gentle, it does contain fragrance which is a synthetic combination of chemicals.

I would more likely agree with using cornstarch but not too much as it might create a chalky effect with your expensive setting powder. Most quality powders do contain Zea Mays (corn starch), so that might not be a bad idea.

A setting powder I fell in love with but doesn't cost too much:

Everyday Minerals Finishing Dust. So natural, less expense!

    Check out www.everydayminerals.com - I'm hooked!

Hope it helps!!!Could I cut my makeup setting powder with baby powder?
    yes, or corn starch
Baby powder contains talc, which is know for clogging pores. So...might be great for your bottom, but not your face!
Baby powder is very gentle but it always appear chalky and not natural. Instead try an inexpensive pressed powder like Covergirl or Maybelline instead. This will help the makeup set after applying the liquid foundation.

Can you wear cream blush over tinted moisturizer or mineral powder makeup?

to me that would be the only way to wear it. i have never worn cream blush , but to me that makes a lot of sense. Can you wear cream blush over tinted moisturizer or mineral powder makeup?
It might be to greasy. Try applying powder after the moisturizer and then the cream blush.

What is the best powder/foundation or basically makeup for oily skin out there?

I have oily skin, especially t-zone and I've tried a lot of oil-free, dermatologist recommended makeup and all still pretty much give me that sweaty looking oily skin and it's not exactly attractive. Any suggestions? I do use Tazorac (a Retinoid) every night for my now very slight acne which is known to make your skin dry but my skin adapts to almost anything and eventually just goes back to being oily! *sigh*What is the best powder/foundation or basically makeup for oily skin out there?
My skin is super duper oily, like it's ridiculous. What I did was change my entire skin care regimen. I used to not moisturize because I was convinced it would make me oilier, WRONG. It helped me a lot and made my skin condition much better.

    1. Don't sleep with make up on.

    2. Cleanse face morning and night.

    3. Use a nonalcoholic toner after washing your face.

    4. 2-3 times a week, use a exfoliate after washing face.

    5. Then moisturize.

    6. Finally, put any acne medication on.

I use bare minerals and it works great. I use blotting pads too though! What is the best powder/foundation or basically makeup for oily skin out there?
Neutrogena moisturizer, it's a myth that people with oily skin don't need a moisturizer but really the body will try to fix the problem on it's own if you don't use a moisturizer, hence the oil.

Elf Powder base, it's good because it isn't a liquid so it won't dry up and crack and just all together look flaky and it blends into skin really well.
    Bare Minerals, by far!

My skin gets oily in the summer, yet in the winter it is dry. Bare Minerals also offers a ';primer,'; which is a bit pricey but well worth it. What the primer does is drink up extra oil as well as getting rid of any dry skin flakes.

By the way; are you drinking enough water? I once went camping %26amp; forgot to bring bottled water for a whole week; my skin got oily from what I believe was drinking a lot of soda.
i have the oily T-zone as well. i use revlon color stay foundation. i usually blot atleast6+ hours bepending on humidity. and the im good for the rest of the time. using a primer helps alot as well. if i dont use revlon i use everyday minerals. you can try a sample kit for 3 dollars (just for the shipping) u get 3 foundations 1 concealer and 1 blush. :) and TONS of colots to pick from.
I have oily skin in my tzone as well and I have never found a powder or mineral foundation that worked for me. You can ask your question on these two forums:

i also use Tazorac on my skin, and Clinique will definitely give you the look you want!!!!
Get a good brand that contains no oil in it. It is probably the best you will be able to do. I use oil free Lancome and love it.
    i personallly like bare minerals

i have oily skin and it seems to work nicely because its kind of breathable and doesnt cause acne(another major problem of mine)

    everyday mineral

    or bare minerals

but everyday minerals is less expensive
    Pancake powder.
i would suggest getting like a clinique foundation in powder
to get rid of oil use MAC blot powder, I swear by it.
I have the same (or similar) problem. My advice is to make sure to wash your face every morning and night - never sleep with makeup on or it will break you out. Use a gentle scrub a few times a week - not every day. You want to exfoliate and clear out your pores, but not over stimulate your pores to excrete more oil.

Make sure to moisturize with a moisturizer meant for oily skin, or else it won't really work well especially under makeup. Use one with some sort of SPF (depending on who much sun you expect to get during the day). The sun can not only increase your risk of skin cancer and age your skin, but it can also stimulate your skin to produce more oil.

Try using a foundation primer meant for oily skin. Smashbox has one called PhotoFinish Light that's meant for oily skin - and there's a few more out on the market. They are a little $$ but well worth it because they do help your foundation to last longer.

As for the foundation itself, you can use mineral foundation. A lot of ppl with oily skin swear by it. There are also liquid foundations on the market (if you need more coverage or just prefer liquid) that are specially designed for people with oily skin. Revlon Colorstay Liquid Foundation for Oily/Combo skin is great, but make sure you wash all of it off your face at night, or else it will clog your pores. Rimmel Stay Matte Clarifying Foundation is great also as it's designed for oily skin and has salicylic acid in it to keep skin clear. They don't seem to have a huge selection of colors, but if you can find your shade, then it works great!

Also, don't forget to blot during the day with an oil abosorbing sheet like one from Neutrogena, Clean and Clear, or ELF (eyeslipsface.com). Although the products you wear will help cut down on oil production, they can't completely change the way God made your skin.

From my experience, I used to get oily skin an hour after applying makeup. When I changed up the regimin to encorporate things specifically designed for oily skin, I found that after about 5 hours, I'd need to blot and then my make up would last an additional 5 hours.

Good luck and I hope this helps.

  • What type of powder makeup works best?

iv been trying to find a power makup that looks natural and feels soft on your face and ideas? What type of powder makeup works best?
Bare Minerals by Bare Essentials. Hands down the best.

I was skeptical of Bare Minerals for a long time, but it really does cover well without caking onto your face. Neutrogena and other companies put out cheaper versions of mineral make up, but nothing beats the Bare Essentials brand. Trust me, I've tried them all! What type of powder makeup works best?
Bare Minerals is definitely a good type, but it can sometimes be expensive. If you're looking for a good type that's not so expensive, i would try bare naturale by loreal. Its a great makeup, and most stores where it is sold (walmart, target, most drugstores) have a skin shade indicator, so it is easier to find your shade.

    hope this helps!!
Maybelline Mineral Power, it works great and it's pretty affordable. You can get a kit that contains the basic powdered concealer, mineral veil, spot cover up (for occasional breakouts,) and brush for about $12 at your local walmart. Add a nice blush and lipstick or gloss and you are done. It gives you the same effect of those expensive mineral makeups.
jordana, you can find it at any drug store or the dollar store, it has all natural ingrediants, it's my favorite :) some beauty products come cheap, it'll be OUR little secret. Or mineral makeup, you can get that at Walgreens or any store, walmart is the cheapest way to go :)
There is a makeup company that is called Bare Escentuals, and all there stuff is amazing. They have all different shades of whatever you want, and their makeup is just wonderful! I tried their stuff a year ago, and have not found anything else like it. Here is a link so you can try it out.

Bare Escentials Mineral makeup. It was the original in mineral makeup and lasts for hours, looks natural, and covers even dark marks with very little product.
I use Covergirl's mineral makeup powder. It definitely makes my face look naturally flawless. Nobody ever can tell that I have makeup on!
Bare Escentuals Mineral Foundation. its WONDERFUL! if you don't want to spend as much try Maybelline Mineral Powder Foundation.
Maybelline bare minerals is about 20$ and works really well. It also feels really light and doesnt clog pores!!!

What's a good makeup powder that is good for..?

Oily faces and sensitive skin? What's a good makeup powder that is good for..?
Perscriptives is fantastic. Some counters still custom mix. Most department stores carry it. Go get a makeover and let it sit on your face for a while. Your skin should feel fresh and bare in a good powder. If it does not work Bare Minerals should. Do the same thing. Go fresh faced and have your face done. See how your skin feels after being in the makeup.

If that fails then it 's La Prairie and gulp! You will feel that in your pocket book. That is only a Sacks Fifth ave. However it is the best and lightest on the market. What's a good makeup powder that is good for..?
Glominerals pressed. So much better than Bare Escentuals.
Most lines carry a mattifying powder. For sensitive skin I would recommend: Neutorgena, Physician's Formula mineral compact, or Almay. Powder doesn't usually contain many irritating ingredients, but we all react differently. If you want to go department store brands, I recommend the Cover FX Matte powder available at Nordstroms. I love this powder, but it is $$.
    Hollywood mineral foundation from LAminerals.com.

I use that and the NoHoGlo one and the oil control powder. They are all FANTASTIC! But the hollywood one has a lil better oil absorption. So when I want the glowy look I use the oil control powder, then the NoHoGlo over it.

My samples were only like $1-$3 and they shipped em free. Youshould try some.

Oh..btw you said you had sensitive skin. If I were you I would NOT USE Bare Escentuals/Bare minerals. It has bismuth oxychloride in it and it made my face itch like crazy! SHeer cover does too.....LAminerals does NOT have bismuth in it.
    Bare Escentuals.
    i like true blend powders
well most make up powder can efect your skin so the best one you can put on is baby powder it does'nt effect it all it does is make you light
Definetly bareEscentuals. I have an oily T-zone, and when I use this, I don't have to reapply or touch-up during the day. Then, use the mineral vail by bareEscentuals to finish up the look.

Why wont my powder makeup stay smooth?

I put my makeup on evenly but only an hour later it looks like I just took a big body puff %26amp; smacked it against my face. I dont touch it or sweat or anything, what causes this %26amp; how can I get it to stay looking fresh %26amp; smooth? Why wont my powder makeup stay smooth?
try not wearing so muchWhy wont my powder makeup stay smooth?
first make sure that your powder sponge is in good condition and that there is absolutley NO moisture in the powder!
sometimes its because you put on to much or your make sucks i have had both problems if you like your powder try putting a liquid on first and then put the powder on lightly over top it will give you a very polished finish and should make the powder stay in place.
That is why I started using the liquid mineral foundation and mineral bronzers by bee-luscious. Their foundation goes on light and smooth and stays that way. Their bronzer stays natural looking all day.
maybe you need to switch makeups becouse that one is probably cheap and low quality.get mineral wear i wear it and it makes my skin look better, its also healthy for your skin so you dont have to take it off when you sleep.its like ten dollars at walmart but worth it.

    hope i helped=]
Try a make-up primer which will help to smooth out the surface of your skin and allow the powder to set better. Two great primers are from Philosophy and Laura Geller's, ';Spackle.'; QVC has both.
may b coz ur skin is too dry or too oily

powdered makeup is meant for oily skin but blot dry the skin b4 u apply the make up.

try using makeup base or mosturiser if ur skin is too dry b4 applying the make up

dont put on too much powder. always dust off the excess with a large powder brush

What is a good makeup product (preferably powder) that will give me a natural, healthy glow?

Something that will give my whole face a wonderful glow. I don't want heavy or shimmery, and it can't look like a mask. The Covergirl one with minerals just isen't that good, and I would like it so I could find it at the local drug store. What is a good makeup product (preferably powder) that will give me a natural, healthy glow?
bare minerals foundation by bare escentuals costs 25.00, but lasts me about one year, that's 2.08/month. it is actually cheaper in the long run, than any cheap drugstore brand. it is 100% pure minerals, and has a natural spf 15; it is the only brand recommended by the national skincancer foundation, because it is good for the skin. try it out at any ulta, sephora, macy's, or nordstrom store, to see, how you like it, before making a decision. What is a good makeup product (preferably powder) that will give me a natural, healthy glow?
bare minerals is very good, but expensive..the next best thing is the loose powder from MAC, its very sheer and soft.

    good luck
I agree I love Bare Minerals but if your looking for a product at the drugstores just get a bronzing powder and apply it to your t-zone (forehead, nose and chin) and to the tops of your cheeks where your cheek bones are.
My GF uses Arbonne. I love a woman who looks natural, never been impressed with make-up. She looks beautiful. I don't notice the make-up, it is so light and natural. Ask around for some representing Arbonne or try their website www.arbonne.com and find a rep near you. They do parties you attend for free and you get to try a sample kit for 3 days to a week, so that you get to really use it without anyone pressuring you. If it's not for you, just let them know when you return the kit.
no no no.not cover girl try lancome i use it and it work soooooo gorgoeous.trust mee %26lt;3 xo good luck !!!
I use M-A-C Studio Fix compressed powder and love it! As stated at their below link:

';Studio Fix is a powder and foundation in one that combines good coverage with ease of application. Designed to be used dry, the powder and pigments create a matte, velvety texture. It contains Silica, which helps to maintain a matte finish by absorbing oils on the skin, as well as Talc to provide a smoother, less reflective, matte finish. The talc has been milled to a microscopic size to provide a beautiful texture while allowing the skin to breathe. This product is long-wearing. It is available in a wide range of colours. It can be applied with a brush, sponge, or a powder puff.

Bare Minerals works really good! But its about $60. Try the L'Oreal Mineral make-up, I love it! It covers really well and looks totally natural.
