What is the best powder foundation? Chanel/Dior/mineral makeup?

I've got really sensitive acne prone skin that's both dry and oily (and pores too!) Can anyone recommend some powder or mineral foundations? I heard Chanel does good foundations, but does it contain talc? is it true that talc can cause clogged pores? please help! What is the best powder foundation? Chanel/Dior/mineral makeup?
For your skin type I would recommend Estee Lauder Doublewear - it's fabulous. What is the best powder foundation? Chanel/Dior/mineral makeup?
mineral makeup is the best - i have tried loads of different foundations, and found a website that you can order samples of the colours for 99p before you buy them. The foundation works really well for coverage, and i can wear it everyday withoout getting clogged pores - as it has zinc which heals the skin while you wear it. A long tie ago it was the recommended foundation on a program link - detox me - order from lilylolo
Chanel is great! All of their makeup is. But another great type of makeup is this foundation by Thierry Mugler, it's all natural, and it's 50% water and 50% minerals, so it helps your skin and it gives great coverage.

I use MAC's Mineralize Satinfinish SPF15 foundation. It's made of mostly minerals, and contains no oil. The powder that goes with it is Mineralize Satinfinish/Natural, it gives great coverage, it's natural, and it's good for sensitive skin.
Due to the fact that you have dry skin, stay away from powders. They can make your face look dryer and cakey. Try something like Clinique Almost Make-up. It is a thick liquid foundation that is light and can be built up to a more heavy foundation. Clinique is allergy tested and will not break out skin. Most foundations contain talc which many people with sensitive skin have a reaction to. Although many people swear by MAC cosmetics, their foundations always break my skin out - and they aren't worth the price (in my opinion.) When you buy Chanel and Dior, you are paying for the name - and not the product. Bare Minerals is a very nice mineral make-up and it will not clog your pores, but because it is a powder...it may make your dry skin look patchy and flakey. If you go to Sephora, ask for some samples - they will most likely be able to give you some Bare Minerals to try out.
Chanel or Dior foundations are RUBBISH. I bought a DIOR foundation hoping it'd be brilliant, but it was awful! Don't recommend it at all!

Foundation will give you more acne, so i suggest just using facial products. Get a

Neutrogena scrub

Neutrogena cleanser

toner

and a neutrogena moisturiser

neutrogena is amazing, and within 2 weeks your skin should feel much better
i have very sensitive oily skin too- ive tried alot- mineral foundation is actually supposedly rele bad for sensitive skin, because the natural ingredients can irritate our sensitive skin- the only mineral makeup that rele works for my skin is pur minerals 4-in-1 pressed mineral foundation- i get many compliments on how flawless, smooth and even my skin looks everyday-its long lasting too and it handles my oily t zone- my skin hasn't broken out from this makeup too- another brand i rele recommend is clinique-anything from them seriously-their products are great for sensitive skin- maybe their clarifying powder makeup will be good for you and your oily acne prone skin- but it may be over drying-or their almost powder makeup spf- but it may give your skin a dewy effect- seriously jut try pur minerals- it has amazing coverage- its the best powder ie ever tried in my entire life and trust me ive tried alot;p it has spf 15, its 4 in 1 b.c its your foundation, concealer, and finishing powder + spf in one! i still wear concealer tho b4 i apply it, and primer- but alot of ppl have asked me what or if ive been using anything on my skin- u have to try it!!! or at least look into it-if so email me and tell me how it is, id like to kno how its works for you lol

hope this helps=)
sorry but i dont like dior or chanel .. people mostly just buy their makeup products because of the name but the actual product isn't that good and people won't even know what brand its from bcus its not like your guna have dior written on your face so out of your options i would choose mineral .. but you should try brands like estee lauder, sisley,l'oreal etc... =] sorry that probs wasnt the answer you were looking for but just my opinion .. hope it helped =]
liquid isnt good for acne prone skin so its good that u are looking for a poqder....i would suggest Bare Minerals....its really good and goes on so lite like a veil and doesnt cause u to break out at all!! it looks really natural but flawless, too....Clarinsis also good....they both use natural products and both r DEFINITELY worth the price!! u dont wanna mess around with cheap brands especially with foundation...they will just clog your pores even more.....good luck!!
Mineralogie.

It's really good, I've been using it for 3 months now and i'ts so much better for your skin than any other normal brand. Try out different mineral makeups or go into a department store and see what they suggest would be good for your skin type.
i have your skin type too

i love Bare Escentuals mineral foundation, it's $60 at Sephora for the starter kit

but Urban Decay Surreal Skin mineral foundation is really good too, %26amp; it's about $30 at Sephora

i'm sure non of these contain talc
i love mineral makeup, specifically bare minerals. i've been using it for years. i had to use liquid foundation once and really felt how heavy it was on my face. the mineral makeup is light weight and has good coverage.
i use Dinair Airbrush Makeup and its amazing!! it makes my skin look flawless and natural at the same time..its really cool. Its all water based so its not bad for your skin. you can look at all their pics and stuff if u just google Dinair...hope i helped.
I would suggest Cover fx mineral foundations. they are gr8, cover up better than any liquid. I have found for the most part chanel and dior foundations do not have good color ranges and the product itself sux.
philosophy has good foundations easy to put on and the brand is also a sin cleaner brand so it should be good for your acne and not irritate it.

hope i helped

ps BEST ANSWER PLEASE!!!! :)))

the mineral makeup kit at channel stores
Mineral makeup. It's actually good for your skin, you don't even have to make it off at night because it does no harm.
try a foundation made by Clinique. I'm sure you'll find something that suits you from them.
i like Lancome. it is oil free and the liquid makeup last all day :)

My under-eye makeup (found., conc., powder) constantly creases & looks caked. How can I prevent this?

here s a good trick i always do wz my foundation ..

i mix some face moisturizer wz my foundation , and then apply it to my face so it wont be caked ..

it looks so natural ... try it wz ur concealer too ..

gd luck xxMy under-eye makeup (found., conc., powder) constantly creases %26amp; looks caked. How can I prevent this?
If you put the make up on straight after when you wake up in the morning then let your sleepy eyes wake up a little. This stops you putting on a whole bunch and making it thick. Also get a good quality foundation/conceler and I put the most foundation on first and then brush over with a powder foundation. But I think when you have some spare time, experiment a little with ways of putting it on.My under-eye makeup (found., conc., powder) constantly creases %26amp; looks caked. How can I prevent this?
You can try using a foundation primer before applying your makeup and make sure that your putting some under your eyes. That should help. Also try using a foundation that can work as concealer also because because concealer tends to crease under the eyes.
i think the best would be if you got it at a drug store then you might want to go to a professional make up brand like clique or bobbie brown but if you can only get drug store brand i would suggest mayblene (can't spell)

  • What is the difference between all the powder makeups?

What is the difference between all of the following...

    - Powder makeup

    - Pressed powder makeup

    - Loose finishing powder

And what does each one do?What is the difference between all the powder makeups?
Powder make up: coverage in the form of loose powder.

Pressed powder make up : make up powder in a pressed block, this usually has more oil and emoilliants in it so isn't as good for oily skin as the powder make up.

Loose finishing powder: is technically not make up as its not used to provide coverage but is dusted on to help your make up stay put.

How do you keep powdered makeup from continuing to break off?

A couple of days ago, I dropped my favorite (and very expensive) pressed powder foundation on the floor.. On the top corner, it crumbled, and much of the powder fell out.. Since then, everytime I open it, there is more chunks and crumbles that I have to throw out.. Is there anything that I can do to set the powder on that side so that it doesn't continue to break all the way down? How do you keep powdered makeup from continuing to break off?
ok, here is what you do since it is going to continue crumbling. Mash it until it is all powder, and very fine. Buy a liquid foundation, apply, and then brush your loose powder on for a velvet look. How do you keep powdered makeup from continuing to break off?
It is a common problem i guess i have been facing since i started using them. So u cant help it. Just prevent dropping it down.
    unfortunately....NO

youre just going to have to chalk it up as a loss and a learning experience...sorry, i hate when that happens!!!
You shouldn't have dropped it i n the first place.
Good question, but really there is nothing that can be done, other than being extra careful.
That has happened to me too and there is nothing you can do to stop it from breaking in the compact. Just put the remainder in a little jar(that has a lid), crush it up and use it as a loose powder OR just buy another compact.

Whats the absolute best foundation POWDER makeup?!?

im 15. My skin is pretty pale. I mostly want to hide dark circles under my eyes, light freckles and just minor imperfections.Whats the absolute best foundation POWDER makeup?!?
ehmigawd bare mineralsWhats the absolute best foundation POWDER makeup?!?
    BARE MINERALS

it is absolutely amazing and totally worth the investment!!!
Mineral makeup is best, it's very natural, has awesome wear-ability, is non-cosmogenic, and is oil free, but please think twice before using Bare Minerals (aka Bare Escentuals) OR Sheer Cover! These products contain bismuth which is NOT a healthy mineral and NOT at all recommended for sensitive skin, it can aggrivate skin promlems further! It resembles arsenic!!! I used this makeup not knowing this fact and it caused me a very bad allergic reaction including intense itch, large blotchy patches of redness, and break outs! After that i looked into LAMinerals but didn't go with them since they put silk powder (killing the animals that make the silk) and other weird ingredients like magnesium, and calcium into their makeup... Common sense told me the more ingredients, the higher the risk of blocked pores, break outs, and allergic reactions...

I then found this makeup and have been using it for 2 years now! It's wonderful! They have 17 foundation colors (way more then the competitors!) and 5 different finishing powders, choose the one for you skin type! Plus they have over 45 eye shadows! It really works well! Plus they are also MUCH cheaper then the 'big' name companies, and they're cruelty free and totally VEGAN (animal by-product free)!

They offer free shipping to the Continental US!

bare minerals by bare escentuals is the absolute best make-up i've found in many years. try it out for yourself at any ulta, sephora, macy's, or nordstrom store, to see, how you like it, before making a decision. it looks natural on my fair skin, most foundations look fake in the lighter tones.
Bare Essentials is THE powder foundation. They have a product called Well Rested. It鈥檚 yellow tinted powder specifically designed hide the dark circles.

My skin tone sounds simiar to yours. I caution you to use one of the BE allover face colors like Rose Radiance or Pure Radiance (my fav) on your cheeks. This stuff covers so well, I need to add a little color back to my face.
    bare minerals is da best
    Cover Girl true blend

(many diffrent skin tones you can choose from)
I use Phsician's Formula and it works very well. My mom uses Bare Minerals and she likes it, but it is rather pricy.
I like sheer cover mineral conceiler and mineral makeup. It covers everything pretty well for me.

What is the best makeup to use if you are constantly having to put powder on your nose every 15 minutes?

cover girl.....???What is the best makeup to use if you are constantly having to put powder on your nose every 15 minutes?
MAC's blot powder. Its oil absorbing and when you put it on it's really light and you don't feel like you are layering on more makeup. I
    You might want to consider ';Bare Minerals';

It is a lovely product and is not a cakey pan-type make up.

Check out the site and decide for yourself.

    http://www.bareminerals.com

They offer a starter kit for about $60 that includes a 'how to' guide (book and dvd) brushes, etc.

    Hope this helps ...
loose powder. it's inexpensive and lasts longer, on your face and in the plastic jar.i
    i love M.A.C.!
I think you first need to start with your face wash. Make sure you are using one for oily skin types. One important rule of thumb: All of your makeup shouldn't be ';oil-free.'; Too many oil-free products on your face will actually trick your skin into thinking it is drying out and it will produce more oil. So if your face wash is oil free, your makeup shouldn't be, or vice versa. As for makeup, loose powder really is the best option because it doesn't settle into your face as much.
Umm..... Loreal Bare Natural!! I luv it~!
it depends on your skin and what you like best.

i suggest trying out all sorts of stuff to ind one you like.

be open minded and try everything, even if you dont think its going to work, because it may.

then, once you find one that works, use it.
You should try a mattifying gel in addition to an oil controling powder.

you could also try oil blotting papers

    :]
Cover girl is what i use and it is great or Avon makeup
    Revlon colourstay is great
I definitely think MAC studio fix powder foundation is the best. I thought that since it was a powder, it wouldn't work as well, but it stays on all throughout the day. but if you're talking about powdering your nose because of oil, I suggest not adding, but subtracting. Use oil blotting sheets such as those from clean and clear. They're really great for your skin, because you're not building up the gunk on your face, rather taking it off. Don't worry, it won't make your face all blotchy because it barely takes off any foundation.
Avon is great and affordable. :)

A makeup stick/powder/liquid/cream that works good for smooth, pale coverup?

I usually use fair from bare minerals, though i don't like it very much. i recently tried an almay makeup stick, and i loved it. i like makeup sticks and creams a lot better for some reason.. they cover up better and you can use more without it looking all powdery. do you recommend any brands?A makeup stick/powder/liquid/cream that works good for smooth, pale coverup?
If your skin can take it MAC's stick foundation is excellent. Maybelline and Max Factor both have good stick foundations too that dont't look powdery.

What are all the makeup terms: foundation, top/base, moisturizers, polishes, powder, bronzer, used for?

Additional terms: matte, internsive, original glo for bases.

Please be open to tell me about other terms also.

I'm new to makeup and I'm just trying to hide my bags which make me look much more older than 14.

I just saw all these terms and I was wondering what these products were used for. What are all the makeup terms: foundation, top/base, moisturizers, polishes, powder, bronzer, used for?
base/primer- a liquid used to prime your skin and pores for smoother application of foundation..

Foundation - a pigmented liquid or powder used for all over coverage, to smooth skin tone..

Powder - a matte finish usually for liquid foundations to smooth and set makeup..

Matte - A finish which does not reflect light..

Shimmery- A finish which DOES reflect light..

Moisturizer - a lotion or cream designed to add moisture, cell renewl, etc to the face..to be used after cleansing and before makeup application..

Toner - an astringent used to smooth and deep clean pores after regular cleansing..

Blush - usually a peachy, or pinkish highlighter for cheek bones where you would naturally have ';rosey'; cheeks..

Bronzer - A ';sun-kissed'; tanning highlighter used to accentuate the face and add healthy summer glow..

Concealer - A denser liquid or cream, pigmented to hide stronger discolorations such as dark circles and acne..

Intensive ( I think you meant) - Usually a word associated with skin treatments, for acne, or anti-aging products, dry skin etc..almost always associated with a ';healing'; or ';repairing'; type of product..

Original glo - would be a term used to show that it would have a more shimmery finish, rather then a matte finish..

I think I covered all your terms and a couple you hadnt asked..

as for your bags, try brewing a couple of green tea bags and then putting them in the fridge..once they are rather chilly, put them on your eyes and leave them there for several minutes..should help..

another good trick is to THINLY slice a few pieces off a potatoe, stick them in the freezer for about 10 minutes so they get super cold and then apply in the same way as the tea bags..I actually prefer the potatoe method because it reduces any bags and helps reduce dark circles due to the starch..

=]What are all the makeup terms: foundation, top/base, moisturizers, polishes, powder, bronzer, used for?
Foundation: Skin colored liquid applied to face to even skin tone.

Base: Moisturizer or foundation primer used underneath foundation to even skin layer so foundation sits better.

Moisturizer: Face specialized lotion to moisturize skin before applying make-up.

Powder: Skin colored powder used after foundation to ';set'; foundation - creates a fake look, I don't use it.

Bronzer: Colored liquid or powder used to create fake tan (can make you look orange if not done properly - I don't use)

Matte: Opposite of glossy/shiny, matte is dull, flat

Toner: Liquid applied to face after washing but before moisturizer to balance skins PH.

Facial make-up: First, wash face thoroughly, don't scrub hard. Apply toner with cotton pad, apply moisturizer all over face/neck/upper chest with cotton pad. Wait 5 minutes, apply primer with cotton pad. Wait 10 minutes. Apply concealer with finger tips to help melt concealer as you apply (body heat helps melt it and it goes on more natural). Apply foundation with sponge, evenly and thinly to even skin tone. Apply blush with blush brush or if using cream blush, apply with sponge.

Eyes can be done a million different ways so you'll have to try and figure it out - but eye shadow brushes as opposed to wands are much better, but tend to get make up on sides of eyes and upper cheeks - be sure to tap off extra make-up to avoid this.
matte~ solid and not as pigmented

pigmented~ very powdery andd kinda glimmery sometimes

foundation~ makes your skin look better. sort of a base

    concealer~ covers up things

base (eye base)~ a little shadowy type thing that prepares your eyelids for eyeshadow and other eye makeup.

mineral makeup~ more natural that other powders and makeup. doesnt clog pores and doesnt cause you to age earlier.

for those bags i would use some nice concealer! (: good luck . hope i helped. tell me if you need anymore and ill edit my answer! =)

is it as amazing as they make it out to be? im vair tempted!

thankyous =)Has anybody tried the makeup concealer and powder sheer cover?
I have tried Sheer Cover and for me it worked well I just like going to the store and buying my makeup and I started using Make Up For Ever foundation and love it so much and it works better for me than the mineral makeup. But out of all the mineral makeup out there for me Sheer Cover was the best. Or you can also try a cheaper brand Everyday Minerals. They have free samples you just pay for shipping so you can test it all out before you commit to the product and a color. I ordered foundation a concealer and a blush from them and they work well so you can try different colors until you find the right one for your skin so that is another way to go.Has anybody tried the makeup concealer and powder sheer cover?
I usually stay away from concealer and just use a lot of foundation because concealer can be bad for the skin and cause acne. So when I need to cover something up, I use liquid foundation and put powder over it, and its still not covered I repeat the process.

Is Almay Line Smoothing Compact Makeup a liquid or powder?

Is Almay Line Smoothing Compact Makeup a liquid or powder?

10 points to best answer or if your the only answerIs Almay Line Smoothing Compact Makeup a liquid or powder?
    powder

How does misting your face after foundation and loose powder help ';set'; your makeup?

It can help set your make up - powder includes ingredients such as talc and fine clays. I am not into going to give a chemistry lesson. Put simply, the properties of clays and talc will react with the misted water, just like if you add water to flour, and the clay particles stick to the skin and each other. As a result when the mixture dries on the skin it is a slightly changed product.

I'm not the only one who finds it works ....

鈥?Make-up artist Glauca Rossi, who now runs her own make-up school in London, sets foundation and powder by spritzing with mineral water. (If you don鈥檛 want to splash out

on a can of Evian spray, fill a plant mister with mineral water, instead.)

鈥?Manhattan make-up pro Fulvia Farolfi believes in fixing foundation with an Evian spray, too. She then blots cheeks and forehead with a tissue to absorb any excess moisture.

鈥?Your foundation disappears? Vanishing make-up can be the result of either very dry or very oily skin, according to New York make-up artist Lynne Geller. Dry skin is so thirsty for moisture that it literally soaks up cosmetics. To combat the problem, Geller recommends choosing make-up formulations with creamy textures. Misting your face regularly with an Evian spray or a plant mister can help, too. With oily skin, enlarged pores allow make-up to seep right into your skin. Excess oils can tamper with the texture, making it rub off easily every time you touch your face. Skip the moisturiser and look for an oil-free formula - or consider all-in-one make-up/powder formulations, which are less likely to be absorbed into the skin (see Make-Up on the Go, p.00).How does misting your face after foundation and loose powder help ';set'; your makeup?
I don't know too much about misting the face after foundation. But I use loose powder after applying foundation to give it more of a matte finish. If you use the right foundation, you don't need to do anything else to it to make sure that it stays on and looking good throughout the day. Try Mary Kay's Foundations. How does misting your face after foundation and loose powder help ';set'; your makeup?
I've never heard of doing that after makeup. Sounds like your makeups going to smear. Although misting you face before makeup will make you skin look fresh and awake because the cold water will tighten your pores.
its doesnt things that claim that are not true. a simple way to freshen makeup uis using BLOT papers clean and clear make good ones and then ppat some invisible mattifyer like BENEFIT DR. FEELGOOD or HARD CANdY BLOT its the purple powder that goes clear. then smooth som pressed powder where some more coverage is needed or to keep shine way longer.

Which loose powder do you use to set your makeup?

I have combination sensitive skin prone to breakouts. Please suggest a drugstore brand. I am thinking of buying Physicians Formula mineral wear powder. Any opinions?Which loose powder do you use to set your makeup?
I have the same skin and I wear covergirl oil free powder, plus my cover up is cover girl oil free. They work great for me and I've used them for years.Which loose powder do you use to set your makeup?
I recently tested the P. formula's brand and wasn't that impressed. I use loreal's translucide loose powder. It's excellent and I've seen many pro makeup artists use it. It has a slight glow underneath, but not shimmery. You must wash your powder brush once a week if you use it alot, tools can breakout skin too. This powder is really fine/milled soft, so it's sheer but no shine shows up on me the whole day. I have combo skin.
    MAC
Mary Kay it is recommended by dermatologists, my mom sells it n i use it!
I would try MAC. I use nothing but their products and I think they're fabulous! It's a lil more pricier than drugstore brand, but I think quality is definitely better! My philosophy is ';You get what you pay for';. Hope this helps.
you can use that or try bare minerals. i use it and it has worked wonders for my skin. its a little pricey, but its def worth it.
If you are going toward minerals, go for a pure mineral foundation. I have tried a lot of foundations and a lot of mineral foundations, such as Jane Iredale, Bare Escentuals, Sheer Cover, CoverGirl, Physician Formula, Philosophy, Glo Minerals, Everyday Minerals, Youngblood and a lot more. The best and purest mineral makeup that actually makes your skin texture flawless is Everyday Minerals, Intensive Formula. Try everydayminerals.com. You can get a discount code through their blog.
With the drug store brands you get what you pay for if you truly want the best product ever then get the mineral colour tides compact by Bee Luscious Cosmetics , it may cost a little more but its so worth every penny because of the results you will see , feel and hear the compliments . It happened to me and I will never switch after feeling like my skin was soft as silk
i use covergirl trueblend powdered foundation. i have acne prone skin, and it doesn't clog my pores, but minimized them and helps set my makeup at the same time
go 4 MAC if youre willing 2 pay more, cause its high quality

go 4 Physicians Formula if ur in the middle price range, be sure to get talc free 4 sensitive skin

go 4 CoverGirl or Maybeline if your on a tight budget (again, talc free)

Ps. Neutragina makes pretty good stuff if ur willing to be generous with ur money.

Would you apply to a company who requires their employees not to wear any type of makeup (even powder)?

inside or outside the plant, they don't allow their employees to wear makeup, deodorant, even powder. they have a very high tech way of detecting if you violated. they contacted me last time and they wanted me for a supervisor position in their plant and i really can't find a job now. however, their salary offer is also very low especially for a supervisor job.

what would you do if you were in my position? big thanks!Would you apply to a company who requires their employees not to wear any type of makeup (even powder)?
That is quite extreme! Do they tell you what soap you can use or do you need to shower there?

I guess it depends on how desperately you need the work. If you can wait for something better, then I would suggest not applying there. Ideally you should feel good about yourself and the place you work. Limiting such basic things like using make up or lipstick seems odd. (Lipstick is a must for me!)And no deodorant? It must smell terrible there!

But if money is tight, you might need to work there at least until something less controlling comes along.

Good luck!Would you apply to a company who requires their employees not to wear any type of makeup (even powder)?
I would say go for it. Obviously, you won't be the only gal there without makeup, so it's not like you gotta compete or anything. You have to deal with b.o. though. Maybe one of those crystal deodorants wouldn't be detected?

If this is the only job offer you have right now, then take the job, but keep looking for a better one. You can always quit if it's not to your liking.

    Good luck!
Honestly, I would try to find another job. Make up is one thing but you can't wear deodorant? Thats just hygeine! But if I weren't able to find another job I would just stick with it until I found a better oppurtunity. Good luck to you for whatever decision you make!
i wouldn't say no just because of the make-up thing. You might want a higher salary though. If thats all you can find, go for it! Make-up is a waste of money anyway!

mark.'s Powder Buff powder foundation ($8) gives great coverage. I keep this with me for daily touchups.
Physicians Formula has a green compact. The green corrects the redness in the face. The powder looks very green in the compact but will not look green on your face.

I like TruBlend, but I think it only comes in Liquid.

I use a cheap powder and it works fine. It's NYC, at drugstores or Walmart or drugstores and is less then $5!
i use true blend by covergirl and i really like it! but ive also heard that bare minerals works very well too!

I'd go to a Clinique Boutique in a Belk store. They have less expensive powder that works really good.

  • Liquid foundation and powder makeup?

So I usually used liquid foundation on my face only. My question is why do some people used both (foundation %26amp; powder) on their face at the same time? Is it to set the foundation onto your face to make the foundation stay on longer?

    ???Liquid foundation and powder makeup?
lol..looks like you just answered your own question... =]

the pressed powder does set the liquid foundation so the foundation stays on longer...but it also gives a more flawless, smoother finish.

also people may find it easier to apply on pressed powder throughout the day, it is more convenient and easier to use, whereas with liquid foundation it is harder to apply throughout the day and can get quite messy!Liquid foundation and powder makeup?
Yeah, that's one reason, and pressed powder takes the shine away, and if you want a quick touch-up just dab on some pressed powder and it look great again! That's just a few of a million reasons. And yeah, you can also use loose and mineral powder of liquid foundation, just make sure your foundation is totally dry before you but it on. . . .

    Hope I Helped!!=]
The Body Shop has a All-in-one face base thats a foundation and powder finish....I use it its awesome!!!

    http://www.thebodyshopathome.com/web/ebi鈥?/a>
    i use both because:

    1. pressed powder just came with the liquid foundation. (rofl.)

    2. i think it gives more coverage

    3. it helps the foundation last for the whole school day.
Liquid if your trying to get more of a finish and powder if your trying to be more natural and just trying to get rid of a shine....
i only use a skin highlighter and bronzing powder,,,,andI am not young but my skin is flawless,,,too much goop clogs it up,,,and looks heavy
because powder sets the foundation so it doesn't leak off and it eliminates shine and oil too...

Can I still wear makeup (powder) on my face even though I am under dermatologist care?

Im undergoing treatment for my acne scars and small sores I have, I put on medicine in the morning and in the evening, after the medicine dries would it be okay to put on makeup ( concealer/powder)?

I was considering Physicians Formula since I do have sensitive skin.

Thanks in advance :)Can I still wear makeup (powder) on my face even though I am under dermatologist care?
Well, i think you'd have to ask your dermatologist, but if you're allowed, I wouldn't reccomend Physician's formula. I like Loreal bare naturale mineral makeup (foundation, concealer, and transluscent powder). It gives alot of coverage and still lets my skin breathe. I'm very acne prone and it's the only makeup that doesn't break me out.

I think it'd be ok for you to wear makeup bc your medicine is working underneath.

Hope this helps! Can I still wear makeup (powder) on my face even though I am under dermatologist care?
I use Physicians Formula and love it, but I would suggest that you ask your dermatologist to make sure.
Well, i think you'd have to ask your dermatologist but i would use a little bit and make sure u wash it off

I want to try out a new face powder, what is the best for oily skin? Is mineral makeup any good?

I get some some small blemishes sometimes and I have some minor scaring from breakeouts when I was a teenager.I want to try out a new face powder, what is the best for oily skin? Is mineral makeup any good?
Bare Minerals is GREAT because it's so light, yet covers up oily skin, and/or blemishes. The only thing you have to be very careful with is that it's tricky to match up your skin tone; more so than a powder or MAC liquid makeup (I have noticed, anyhow. . .). If you're going to invest in a new mineral product then I would suggest going to a makeup store that will let you try samples before buying, like Sephora or something similar in your area.I want to try out a new face powder, what is the best for oily skin? Is mineral makeup any good?
Make sure that you use a product that is hypo-allergenic. If you mean mineral oil--stay away from that ingredient as it can poison your skin.
I'm glad u asked this ..I was so scared to try Bare Minerals...It was the best thing I ever did. It not only covers up my oily scared skin but my break outs have stopped. Try it what can u lose. You can always get your money back.

I would try Liquid or a mineral
I absolutely love bare minerals!! It makes your skin look smooth and soft, but not cakey... try it! You'll love it.
Not sure which MAC powder you're using.

I do not wear foundation but sometimes need heavier coverage for breakouts. I use their STUDIO FIX, but I apply (after dotting MAC Select Moisturecover concealer on spots) with a brush, b/c the sponge seems too heavy for me. I use this concealer b/c it's an easy shade match, and is oil-free, and non-comedogenic....water-based. The Studio Fix definitely gives more coverage than other MAC powders. Ask them for something lighter if you don't need this much coverage. Like I said, I apply lightly with a brush instead of the sponge.

At Ulta I've used their Studio Gear brand. It's fine-milled like MAC, priced about the same. I mostly stick w/MAC b/c of shade issues. I really like the Studio Gear, though.

I've also used Clinique Blended Face Powder. Not as much coverage as MAC, and not as many shades (I'm Casper the Friendly Ghost pale) for a close match, but good.
Mineral make up is absolutely the best. Hands down, no question. Try Bare Minerals or Arbonne, both are amazing.
    MINERAL MAKEUP is the answer!

It looks natural, and makes your skin look flawless, even with scars, acne, skin discolorations, freckles, anything you want to cover invisibly. It never runs or fades or clogs your pores. You can even SWIM in it, because it's water-resistant for up to 30 minutes or so, so imagine how sweating and humidity won't make it run! Feels sheer and light, so it doesn't overheat your face! Also has a natural 15 to 30 SPF, which everyone needs to keep the sun from damaging and aging their skin.

Bare Minerals by Bare Escentuals is the most famous - and the most expensive. Do a search for 'mineral makeup' on eBay - many, many brands of mineral makeup to choose from, and lots of great deals!!

I've been using the stuff for 2 years and I will NEVER go back! It's completely amazing stuff, and I wish I'd known about it years ago!
i have dark pigmentation on my face and i used to wear mary kay foundation..but it felt very cakey...and i soon discovered bare essentials and I LOVE IT....you put it on in the morning and in the evening your face still looks fresh like you just put it on....thats how good this stuff is....they sell trial sizes if you wanna start off that way....
I love arbonne's new about face mineral powder foundation; it has an SPF of 15 to protect you from the sun, covers well but looks really natural, and comes in a wide variety of shades. You can also try their intelligence personalizer under your foundation. It balances oily areas, covers redness and keeps your matte finish for hours on end! These are two of my personal favorites. I have that oily t-zone that really acts up during these humid summer months. You can shop on line at www.LiveNaturally.MyArbonne.com
Do we really want our freckles covered? I want to still look like a human not a doll.

I tried a mineral makeup and I hated it. First even though it was the lightest color it looked orange on and it was thick and cakey, like a pancake feel. Yuck!

I have tried covergirls two part makeup that has a base primer with spf. I really like it even though it is on the cheap side.
    bare minerals is great

but i love even more estee lauder face maekup super sheer and light

I love the mineral wear foundation (you can get it at your local CVS) It goes on smooth and its light yet does a great job at covering up any imperfections. What is a good makeup (foundation and powder) that covers well, isn't expensive and doesn't clog my pores?
Try Loreal true match foundation along with the powder..works great for me. The powder absorbes the oil so it keeps your skin looking fresh. And I've been using it for a whole year now, my skins in the best condition ever, well I have also been cleansing my skin once a week too.
I would recommend Revlon ColorStay... i use it personally and i love it.. the foundation runs about $11 and the powder around $9 you can purchase it at Wal-Mart..... It leaves your face extra smooth and hides blemishes..... Try it
Try puritycosmetics.co.uk. It is really good!

Does bare minerals look the same on face than regular powder makeup???

if not then what does it look like..can you tell your wearing makeup??Does bare minerals look the same on face than regular powder makeup???
I got a bare minerals starter kit last year, and for a while I was happy with it because I had this mindset that it was perfect makeup, but eventually I realized that it looked pretty awful. Bare minerals isn't that bad as long as you already have pretty much perfect skin. It is awful (in my opinion) at covering acne, and things like that. If you have clear skin it might be alright for you, but I don't really recommend it. (I've never been a big fan of only using powder anyway, so it may just be me) As I said in the comment I left in one of your other questions, I recommend loreal's truematch liquid foundation, it blends easily and has nice coverage. But always go with what you're comfortable with, and it's always good to try new things. Life is all about trial and error, keep trying until you find something perfect that you love and that looks great. Also http://www.youtube.com/user/amy04 has really great makeup videos if you wanna watch some of those, it never hurts to learn.

Sorry this is so long %26gt;.%26gt; I tend to get carried away

Oh and Avon carries a great mineral powder foundation, and I'm pretty sure it's alot cheaper than bare mineralsDoes bare minerals look the same on face than regular powder makeup???
no...it's really shiny and cakey looking!!!

    I hate it.

Get LA Minerals hollywood or NoHoGlo foundation instead. It's much better and cheaper. Plus no bismuth in it.
No it dosen't becuase it's not he same as regular powder. Most powders are not foundations, they are just powders, made mostly of cornstarch and talcs to absorb oil. Bare escentuals is ok, however it is overhyped. I am a professional makeup artist, the point of makeup is to make you look as good as possible and make it look like it comes to you naturally. I use faerie organic minerals on all my clientel for several reasons. Everyone wants that celebrity *glow and this makeup does it naturally. Bare escentuals uses some cheap fillers and chemical preservatives they use bismuth oxychloride which is cheap and can cause irritation or the dreaded itchy feeling, faerie organic uses Boron nitride a high end mineral that costs A LOT, but makes you look flawless. They have natural spf, its pretty much waterproof, cheaper than bare escentuals, looks completley natural. You can get a sample kit for like $5.99. http://www.faerieorganic.com They have real before and afters unlike bigger sites where they have computer edited models. Check it out.
bare minerals is great. never cakes and holds shine at bay. its great stuff. no not the same as other powders. apply right and its great

Looking for opinions--Has anyone tried Bare Escentuals powder makeup? What did you think of it?

I love it. I always have had acne scars to cover up (and pimples) so I never wanted to change my makeup because I had a system that worked for me. However, for my brothers wedding I let a family friend do my makeup with the bare minerals my mom had just gotten...I loved it! It really covered up. Even more it stayed on!! I cried lots during the wedding, but when we took the pictures after the wedding my makeup looked just as good! There were no waterlines down my face...if I had been using my old stuff I would have had those lines!

Ok that's my story with it. yes it costs alot, but I love it. The only thing more you might need is a little more finishing powder if you have oily skin...oh and many place online sell it, but try not to get it from their website, it costs too much.Looking for opinions--Has anyone tried Bare Escentuals powder makeup? i have already written like 10 of these things so i'll keep this short. beware of the beautiful %26amp; flawless looking skin you will get from the Bare Minerals %26amp; Bare Escentuals makeup. You won't look like you're wearing makeup.
I have this make up and I like it, but it tends to flake a lot, like if i have a zit on my face..it doesn't cover it up good, it will just get sort of crusty..so make sure that you buy a great concealer(Stila's is good.)...It's more of a make up for oily skin because the minerals absrob the oil..but if you have dry skin it tends to not work unless you have a great moisturizer too.! And they shouldnt make your skin oily. Good luck!Does wearing powder makeup without any base or foundation clog pores and cause blackheads?!?

Using cream/liquid makeup with powder makeup ?

I was wondering, if i were to use bare minerals foundation or any other powder, but also wanted to use a liquid highlighter, would I be able to do that ? If so, how ? I'm just imagining everything being made into a paste.Using cream/liquid makeup with powder makeup ?
Well, it might not turn into a paste, but it would most likely become very glopped together, or could give your foundation a ';pilled'; look.

As for liquid and powder cosmetics used together, the solution would be to use the liquid highlighter first.

In the area in which you want to apply the highlighter, apply it to your skin prior to foundation. Allow it a few minutes to really set and dry on the skin, and then lightly go over those areas with your foundation to help blend the highlighter into your skin. On the areas where you have not applied highlighter, apply the foundation as you would regularly, and on the areas with your highlighter, simply use a lighter hand.

If this doesn't work, then all you can really do is switch to a powder highlighter and use that.

Although, once you apply your foundation to bare skin, you CAN try patting the highlighter on with your finger or with a stippling brush, and see if that works.Using cream/liquid makeup with powder makeup ?
No. Don't apply liquid over powder because this will turn your face into an icky mess. (Liquid first, powder sets it.)

    Instead, try a powder highlighter.
I always use liquid for extra coverage on problem spots and powder to ';cement'; the look.

Pur Minerals is awesome! It is slightly pricey ($28) but it works so well! In my case, I am extremely pale and I used to break out all the time and every make-up I tried was either not the right color or made me breakout or wouldn't stay on.

Physician's Formula is the best by far. It's organic, so it doesn't irritate your skin; When I use it, it covers up any flaw that I have; It stays on for hours; It comes in different shades; It's about $12 and can be found at any drugstore.

What is makeup primer and what's the difference between cream liquid and powder foundation?

also what's the difference between, broze, blush, and luminizer? I'm so confused, i know nothing about makeup. What is makeup primer and what's the difference between cream liquid and powder foundation?
Makeup primer is what you put on before your makeup. There's foundation primer, eyeshadow primer, and lip primer. They all make the makeup stay on longer and look better.

Liquid foundation is the most common foundation and it's just liquidy. LOL, not much to say about it.

Cream foundation is thicker than liquid foundation and powder foundation is dry, like the consistency of baby powder. Powder foundation can come be either loose or pressed. Loose is going to be the most like baby powder, because it's kinda messy, and pressed powder is what you'll find in compacts.

Bronzer is a product that's meant to give you a look like you've been in the sun a little. It's supposed to be a bit darker than your skin color to make you look a teeny bit tanned.

Blush is what you put on your cheeks to look like you're blushing or a little flushed, like after a run or something.

Luminizer is also known as a highlight. It makes things look brighter, or more prominent. You could put a luminizer in the corner of your eyes to make your eyes look more open.

I hope that helped!! Good luck!

Help finding the right foundation color tone in maybelline mineral powder foundation makeup??

hiiii im asian and im using maybellines mineral powder foundation makeup and i cant seem to find the right color for me;. [ i dont have a good picture of my skin to show you at the moment but i can tell you that i am quite tan but still with a somewhat golden tint ]what color suggestions would you have for me?? thank you(:Help finding the right foundation color tone in maybelline mineral powder foundation makeup??
The basic technique is to take a mirror outside and try different shades, but that seems impossible when your buying inside a store. Try buying a warm (W) warm shade or a shade that has golden in it. If not then,

Try using a bronzer on your cheeks and forehead if your shade is too light. I become very tan in the Summer and instead of trying to do an exact match to my face.. I just do add a bronzer to my routine. It really works! Revlon, Estee Lauder and Bobbi Brown have great bronzers without the hint of pink in them.

    I hope this helps!

I've been using it for months and am very pleased with it I have three containers stocked piled. I also use a large kabuki brush. Daily I'm asked what foundation am I wearing.

    Hope This Helps
everyday minerals. or the maybelline mineral powder called mineral power i think i heard good things about it. the concealer works rly good
bare minerals made my skin look flawless it didn't make it break out or itchy.

you should try it, because it works different for everyone.it could work great for you
why not try physicians formula, its cheap and affective! you can buy it at drugstores like cvs and walgreens

Hey guys, will my sunblock lose it's efficacy if I add mineral powder/makeup to it?

It has Zinc and I want to get rid of the white cast it leaves on my face by trying to tint using some mineral makeup. Anyone tried this?Hey guys, will my sunblock lose it's efficacy if I add mineral powder/makeup to it?
I've never tried it but I'm sure it would be a great idea. A lot of the mineral powder makeup add extra sun protection, so adding it to sunblock should only make it better.

  • Is liquid makeup or powder makeup better?

I think powder make up is WAY better because liquid make up looks kinda patchy and cakey...

    Powder looks more NATURAL!

:)Is liquid makeup or powder makeup better?
To me the mineral powder makeup seems to work better. If you want some good make up try bare essentials powder makeup. Is liquid makeup or powder makeup better?
Powder make up is best and the best is Sheercover. It is a mineral powder that covers any flaws on you face. It is lightweight and trust me it works. Go to sheercover.com and see for yourself. I have finally found a foundation that gives you a flawless look. If you are not satisified you can get your money back even if you use all the product. Who gives that kind of guarantee? Trust me its the best!
i prefer powder just cause it doesn't look trashy and cakey.
It really depends on the person and the type of skin you have.Personally,i like powder because it doesn't cause you to break out.i'll say, when your're in hot and humid weather liquid is better, because powder comes out faster.just try and see which works better.hope i helped!
    i prefer powder makeup
depends on your skin tone. if yuor on the oily side, deff go with powder. if your dry or just normal, go liquid cause it gives you a dewey healthy look.
    powder makeup.
for foundation, I like liquid better. It simply provides better coverage. Liquid shadows also go on nicely, just make sure to have a good base before applying.

Powder blushes, and shadows are great. But I am not a fan of powder foundation.
Liquid makeups such as liquid eyeliner, bronzer, and eyeshadow tend to stay on longer but they are harder to remove later in the day and get into your pores. Powder makeup like eyeshadow or blush, etc. smear more easily but they are easier to remove.

So...they both have their pros and cons.
powder.... when u use a liquid, it makes most girls look orange/fake/ like they have spent to much time in the tanning beds. powders look the most natural
depending on your skin type... if you have dry skin liquid make-up is better, If you have oily skin the powder makeup is better. I personally use a mixture of both, it give me a non cakey more natural look. Nutrimetics and Clinique both have excellent ranges in both liquid and powder makeup.

    hope this helps...
I had used both I prefer liquid make up better. I guess the best is the one you see you look better

Is is ok to use expired makeup kits; loose powder, compact powder, rouge, lipstick tc?

Normally the shelf life of comestic is two years, when we purchased it, it can be left with a few months or a year. By the time we used it, it can be three or four years. Is is ok to use expired makeup kits; loose powder, compact powder, rouge, lipstick tc?
Yes, if they look ok, then I think you can still use them.

I do all the time ;-)

If the powder looks cracked, or dry I wouldn't recommend using it or if mascara has dried up, don't use it.

Hope I helped ;-)Is is ok to use expired makeup kits; loose powder, compact powder, rouge, lipstick tc?
No I would not use it, it can make your skin break out.
wd u buy and use expired food from the supermarket or take expired medicines? u can see why that is a bad idea.

hint: buy makeup only when it runs out, use the makeover counters to experiment with new stuff so u dont end up purchasing stuff u hate.
expired make up isnt a good idea. its really bad for your skin.
no. it can cause all sorts of infections.
No. Never. There are chemicals in there that can really screw up your face once they get expired.
no you shouldn't use expired makeup. it could create skin rashes and whatnot.
